Communications Strategist for Skövde Municipality

The Communications Unit has an overarching responsibility for the municipality's communication to help achieve its goals and move towards Vision Skövde 2040. The unit consists of 11 employees who together drive and develop communication work from a holistic perspective. We are now looking for a communications strategist who wants to contribute to this.

In this role, you are also an important player in the municipal management team, where we lead and support the municipality's development and create conditions for the operations to achieve their goals. Together we realize dreams and help Skövde grow!

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a communications strategist, you have a varied job and support the municipality's operations in planning and implementing communication initiatives at different levels. You play a key role in developing the municipality's communication capabilities. You sit in the management group for one or more sectors and are a support and sounding board for managers and employees in communication matters. With a focus on quality and results, you primarily work strategically and long-term but also perform operational communication work and handle urgent issues.

In the Communications Unit, we constantly develop our working methods, and together with colleagues in the unit, you participate in shaping the work ahead.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in media and communication studies or other education/experience that we consider equivalent. You have several years of experience in strategic communication work and are used to supporting managers, preferably in a publicly governed organization.

You are accustomed to working with communication planning and have experience leading projects in the communication field. You have a holistic view of communication and understand both the needs and conditions of the operations and the residents. Monitoring the environment, keeping up with trends in communication, and daring to try new paths is second nature to you. You can adapt messages according to the target audience and channel, and you are experienced in working with various digital platforms. You are a skilled and creative writer. It shows that you enjoy working with language and storytelling and know how to create content that engages.

To succeed in this role, it is important that you are outgoing, attentive, and have an easy time building trust. As a person, you are driven, flexible, and positive. You thrive in a dynamic everyday life and have a good ability to deliver high quality. You are used to working independently and value collaboration and good relationships.
