Welcome to Alingsås!
As an employee in our municipality, you have all the opportunities to help develop the operations and your workplace. Together we create Alingsås!
At the Community Building Administration, more than 180 employees work with infrastructure and environmental protection in our municipality. We are responsible for planning and operating construction projects, road networks, parking lots, public spaces, parks, waste management, as well as treatment plants and waterworks. Our area of responsibility also includes traffic safety, accessibility, security, and a generally good environment for residents, as well as regulatory activities based on the Environmental Code and food legislation, where supervision and preventive work are in focus.

The unit is part of the Urban Planning Department, which consists of two additional units responsible for detailed planning and land and development issues.
In May, we will move into our new municipal building, right in the city center of Alingsås. Here you will have the opportunity to be involved from the start and work in both unique and functional premises. The municipal building has a central location within walking distance to commuter trains, restaurants, cafes, and shops, which provides good conditions for a pleasant and accessible workday.

An important task is environmental monitoring, where you will work to analyze trends in the area and adapt them to the conditions and potential of Alingsås municipality. As an infrastructure strategist, you will represent and drive Alingsås municipality's needs in infrastructure issues in relation to other stakeholders and changes in the external environment.
The position as an infrastructure strategist involves active participation in various networks at both local and regional levels.
