Unit Manager for Maintenance and Refurbishment

About the position

As a unit manager for maintenance and refurbishment at the Assistive Technology Center, you will work to lead and develop the operations within the units together with your employees.

Your main areas of responsibility:

• Be responsible for the daily operations and delivery of the units and follow up on the teams' results and goals
• Work on the development of the teams' assignments through production planning and efficiency improvements.
• Personnel and work environment responsibility
• Be responsible for the units' finances and budget work
• Be responsible for competence supply and competence development within the teams.

Your personnel responsibility includes about 28 employees across two different units that currently have different needs and conditions. In the refurbishment unit, we take care of used assistive devices, wash and restore them for reuse. In the maintenance unit, we work with preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of assistive devices at patients' homes and in care facilities. You will report to the department manager and be part of the local management team where you contribute and are active in the strategic work to achieve our goals and meet our customers' expectations. In addition to your immediate manager, you will have support from manager colleagues, process leaders, as well as an HR and finance function.

Your placement is at the Assistive Technology Center in Skövde.

About us

At the Assistive Technology Center, we are over 300 employees who procure, assess, maintain, store, and reuse assistive devices for mobility impairments, cognitive support, and communication, as well as assistive devices for medical treatment. We are located in four locations in the region. In Skövde, about 90 employees work, and our operations are in an expansive phase with a strong focus on development and future growth.

About you

We are looking for someone with previous experience as a manager in workshops, maintenance, production, or similar operations. You are accustomed to handling personnel, finances, and operational development. With your own practical experience from technical work, you have a good understanding of what is required from the team and your employees. You have a university degree, preferably with a technical orientation, or equivalent experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.

To succeed and thrive in the role, you need to be a confident leader who stands firm in your leadership and employer role. You have the ability to create trusting relationships and participation among your employees. With drive and curiosity, you work purposefully and dare to try new ways to develop the operations.

Furthermore, you have good computer skills and experience working in digital systems.
