We are now looking for a store manager who wants to establish and develop HORNBACH in Jönköping – and do it together with an engaged and knowledgeable team!

About the role

We are growing – and we want YOU to join us on the journey! We are opening a new store in Jönköping in 2027 and are looking for a store manager who wants to be involved from the start and truly make an impact on the business. Initially, you will be based at our headquarters in Gothenburg to then help build the new store which is under construction in autumn 2026 - spring 2027!

We are looking for someone who is driven to engage your employees every day to reach new heights and who enjoys daily customer contact in the store where the business happens. You are a present leader in everyday life – both for employees and customers – and want to continue to grow together with us at Hornbach. The role requires a clear local commitment, where we expect you to build strong relationships in Jönköping with customers, local businesses, and other key players.

As a store manager, you have ultimate responsibility for the entire store. You constantly strive for improvement, development, and optimization of results while creating a workplace where employees thrive, develop, and have fun!

Your mission is to drive sales, results, and customer experience through clear, social, and sales-driven leadership. You lead by example and are operationally present – with a particular focus on results-based customer interaction.

Your responsibilities/Examples of tasks

  • Create clear structures and working methods that make it easy for managers and employees to succeed in their daily work
  • You engage, coach, and motivate your employees with a clear focus on project consulting, customer interaction, and visual merchandising.
  • You show your employees the way by being actively engaged in the operational work in the store every day.
  • You inspire your employees to grow, develop, and take responsibility.
  • You have the interest, drive, and knowledge to develop and optimize our customer experience across various sales channels, both in-store and online.
  • You are responsible for building structures, new teams, and working methods in the new store with support from the organization.
  • You balance creativity with concept management and enjoy working within shared processes and methods in an international corporation.
  • You build strong and long-term B2B relationships and take responsibility for developing our corporate customers and their business.
  • You establish local contacts with both local businesses and customers and other stakeholders and are driven to create local engagement around the store's events and activities while strengthening Hornbach as a brand.
  • As we are an international corporation, you see collaboration across borders and languages as a natural and developing part of the role.

We are looking for you who:

  • Have solid leadership experience, preferably from retail or another business with a clear business and customer focus.
  • Are social, driven, and goal-oriented. You are driven by results but know that strong sales are built through engaged and happy employees, clear guidance, and presence in everyday life.
  • In the role of store manager at Hornbach, it is equally important that you are a competent leader as it is that you appreciate daily customer contact since your days will largely involve being close at hand for both colleagues and customers in the store.
  • We would like you to have good digital skills and an interest in driving various development projects.
  • It is essential that you are well-versed in contract law and the laws and regulations of commerce.
  • To succeed in the role of store manager with us, you believe in building strong employee engagement and developing the business within clear frameworks. You dare to try new working methods and improvements while respecting shared processes and methods in a large international corporation.
  • You are an empathetic and secure leader who does not hesitate to make decisions, follow up on them, and drive change in a structured way together with the rest of the organization and headquarters.

Working hours/Duration: Permanent employment. Full-time 40 hours/week. Working hours are varied as evenings and weekends occur.

Salary: Individual salary setting. Collective agreement exists.

Start date: By agreement.
