In the role of parish priest with us, you are both central and versatile; you are the heart of the congregation: a present leader who inspires both creativity and action. You have overall responsibility for the congregation's activities, staff, and development, while also being an active part of everyday parish life.

With us, it is equally important to lead with structure and clarity as it is to stand in the church and meet the congregation in our many activities. The role involves a mix of administration, leadership, and pastoral presence. That said, a parish secretary role has recently been established to relieve you as the parish priest. In short, this is a position for someone who wants to lead and share life with people in and around the church.

We are looking for someone who is ordained in the Church of Sweden and has the qualifications to apply for the position of parish priest according to the church order – or is on the way there.

Through modern, coaching, and present leadership, you develop and lead people in a humble and attentive manner, while also making decisions and acting when necessary. You are secure in yourself, curious about others, and have the ability to create good relationships.

A driver's license, a personal vehicle, and good knowledge of Swedish are required.

The Färgelanda-Högsäters parish is part of the Church of Sweden and consists of about 4,500 members and eight churches. We have around 20 employees and many volunteers who together create a vibrant church life – from services and choirs to youth activities, soup lunches, grief groups, baby massage, and much more. We are a stable parish with great commitment, high ceilings, and a lot of heart. There is room for laughter and always a willingness to keep the dialogue alive. The diocesan board is often amazed at how much we come up with – and we are proud of that. For us, it is natural to always say yes to new ideas, big or small.

Färgelanda is located in the heart of Dalsland, close to both the coast, forests, and outdoor life. There is also a rich association life and a warm community to find home in.
