Unit Manager at the Tenants' Association Region BohusÄlvsborg-Skaraborg

Every day, the Tenants' Association, its elected representatives, employees, and members contribute to improving housing for people. We have been doing this for many years, and we want to continue to advocate for tenants' interests, rights, and opportunities to influence their housing in the future.

About the Role

In the position of Unit Manager, you will combine active legal work with a managerial role. As the head of our legal unit, you will be responsible for ensuring that the organization meets its goals and that our members receive qualified legal support. The unit consists of three lawyers and two case handlers, who together manage approximately 600–1200 cases per year.

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan, develop, and lead the work within the group
  • Personnel management and leadership responsibility
  • Conduct employee reviews, salary discussions, goal discussions, and rehabilitation discussions with the group's employees
  • Ensure that the region's and the association's various policy documents are known within the workgroup and that they are followed
  • Co-responsible with the regional manager for the budget and planning process for the group
  • Participate in the recruitment of staff
  • Communicate goals and develop the organization by creating engagement and participation among employees
  • Actively participate in the region's change and development work in our management team
  • Develop collaborations and networks with external actors and organizations

As this is a combined position, you will also handle legal work such as:

  • Representing members in cases
  • Driving processes and analyzing tenancy law issues
  • Quality assuring the handling within the unit
  • Providing legal advice to other parts of the organization.

Your Background

Requirements:

  • Law degree
  • Documented experience in litigation
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in qualified legal work

Meritorious:

  • Experience as a judge
  • Experience in a managerial role or mentoring lawyers
  • Specialization in tenancy law, procedural law, and tort law
  • Experience working within the civil society.

To be successful in this role, you need to be a results-oriented, structured, and stable person with a well-developed holistic view. Personal suitability is highly valued.
