We are looking for a driven manager

We are looking for a driven manager who, together with colleagues in the regional management team and our dedicated employees, wants to help concretely realize the assignments from the parliament and government.

The Swedish Forest Agency operates in an increasingly complex, changing, and unpredictable environment. A time when forest policy plays a significant role in society while EU policy has a greater influence on forestry issues. This is noticeable and has effects even locally. The Skaraborg-Fyrbodal district currently has 23 employees based in our offices in Skövde and Uddevalla. The Skaraborg-Fyrbodal district performs a variety of governmental tasks and conducts assignment activities for external clients.

Working as a manager at the Swedish Forest Agency

As a manager within the Swedish Forest Agency, you have three roles. You are the employer representative, leader, and operational manager within your area of responsibility. In close collaboration with other district managers, you ensure that we use the region's resources as optimally as possible to achieve the agency's common goals, which requires you to have the ability to think and act strategically from a holistic perspective. The management team is a place for co-creation around our common development and change work. This means that together with colleagues in the regional management team, you ensure the regional management of the Swedish Forest Agency's operations. As a district manager, you report to the regional manager.

You are an important representative of the agency and should create understanding for our mission both internally and externally. This means that you have a communicatively important role.

Through close relationships with employees, knowledge of and understanding of the operations, you provide yourself with the conditions to lead and coordinate the activities towards set goals. You develop the individual, the operations, and the Swedish Forest Agency as a whole.

Your leadership

You have the ability to work goal-oriented and results-oriented both in the long and short term. You show courage in your leadership by being able to make decisions and be loyal to decisions made within the agency. We expect you to be communicative and have the ability to create engagement and participation. Your leadership is characterized by trust, community, respect, responsibility, and curiosity.

  • You have experience in driving and being responsible for development within your area of expertise.
  • You have good administrative skills and can easily express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
  • You are well-versed in systematic work environment management.
  • You are a role model by being a secure person with good judgment. You share the agency's values.
  • You have the ability to lead in change and can adapt your leadership based on the needs of employees and the operations.

If you have worked in a politically governed organization, it is an advantage. Furthermore, experience in the area of expertise is also an advantage. You have several years of practical experience in leadership, organizational, and operational development.

You have an academic degree in a field relevant to the operations.

We place great importance on your personal qualities based on a holistic assessment. We apply psychological personality tests as part of the recruitment process.

Our offer

The Swedish Forest Agency applies fixed-term management appointments with the possibility of extension. At its core, there is a permanent position within the Swedish Forest Agency.

Requirements for a B driver's license. Travel is included in the position.

Your main workplace will be at one of the district's offices. You have trust-based working hours with some opportunity to work from home.

Interviews are planned to be held during weeks 10-12, both digital and physical occasions.
