Do you want to gain valuable experience in social work and work closely with individuals facing active addiction issues, with or without mental health problems, who for various reasons struggle to maintain housing in the regular housing market? We are looking for someone who wants to work this summer but is also available for extra shifts during the semesters.
Job Responsibilities
As a staff member within Housing First, you are the link between the tenant, social services, and property owners. Your tasks include supporting our tenants in daily activities and in their contact with authorities. Together with the tenant, we work to create a safe and stable home, with home visits and technical inspections carried out continuously. As a contact person, you motivate the necessary interventions for the tenant. We maintain ongoing documentation and together with the tenant, we establish an action plan.
Furthermore, the role involves collaborating and informing about Housing First in contact with property owners, authorities, and other organizations. You are also an important part when incidents occur that may arise from our residents' issues. Regarding communication with our tenants, partners, and property owners, it is essential that you are professional and communicative, and that you are willing to address difficulties and highlight areas for improvement.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Started (minimum three semesters) or completed a degree in social work
- Relevant work experience in social work where meeting people has been central
- Very good Swedish in both spoken and written form
- A valid B driver's license, manual transmission is required.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working with individuals living with mental health issues, addiction problems, or homelessness
- Training or experience in motivational interviewing (MI) and low-arousal responses
- Experience in documentation within similar fields
- Experience in harm reduction work
- Experience collaborating with healthcare, psychiatry, police, disability support services, or municipal authorities
- Knowledge and training regarding Naloxone, CPR, and overdoses are also positive if you possess them.

About the Workplace
Housing First is an initiative for individuals with complex social issues who are experiencing long-term homelessness and offers support and independent housing in the form of an apartment with a transferable second-hand lease. The goal of the operation is to ensure housing stability, enhance recovery opportunities, and increase the individual's perceived quality of life.
The staff is available for residents Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30.
20 employees work in the organization, of which three have tasks related to coordination and methodological support. 17 social workers provide support and advice in teams of four, where at least two are regular staff during the summer. The workgroup collaborates closely, placing great importance on supporting each other and exchanging knowledge and experiences. As a substitute, you are essential for providing continuous and flexible support to residents when the regular contact person is on leave.
Our methodological base is based on low-arousal responses, motivational interviewing (MI), and a harm reduction approach.
