This is an opportunity for you who want to develop within your profession and gain valuable experience in social work. The job also offers a chance to work closely with clients and be part of a team that makes a difference every day!

We are now looking for temporary and summer substitutes for day/evening shifts as well as awake night shifts. Both day/evening positions and night positions in this recruitment involve working approximately every other weekend.

Job Responsibilities

Qvarnen is a residence for men experiencing homelessness with harmful use and dependency, often in combination with mental health issues. At Qvarnen, men of different ages, various drug use, and unique life stories, experiences, and needs reside. Our goal is always to provide tailored support so that our residents feel safe in their living environment. This places high demands on us as staff to be able to switch between different strategies and approaches and to always maintain a good and non-judgmental attitude towards all our residents.

The job responsibilities involve supporting, motivating, and creating a safe living environment and secure relationships with the residents. An important part of the work at Qvarnen is to collaborate with other actors regarding our residents, such as the police, healthcare, social emergency services, and other units within social services.

The work includes certain practical tasks such as cleaning living rooms upon move-out, serving food and coffee, and assisting residents with other practical matters such as cleaning and laundry when needed. Job responsibilities also include documentation, record-keeping, and the establishment of implementation plans.

Qualifications

For these positions, the following is required:

  • Started or completed education as a social worker, social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, or other relevant education deemed suitable by the employer for the assignment.
  • Relevant work experience in social work where meeting people has been an important part.
  • Very good Swedish in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious:

  • Ongoing or completed internship within your education
  • Experience working with individuals living with dependency issues
  • Experience working with individuals living with mental health issues
  • Experience working from a low-arousal approach
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness
  • Education and experience in MI and/or solution-focused approaches
  • Experience working with documentation in similar operations
  • Experience working from a harm-reduction perspective
  • Experience collaborating with other actors regarding our target group, such as healthcare and psychiatry, police, disability support administration, and authorities within municipal operations that decide on housing
  • Driver's license (automatic transmission is sufficient)

About the Workplace

Qvarnen is a residence for men experiencing homelessness with harmful use and dependency, often in combination with mental health issues. At Qvarnen, men of different ages, various drug use, and unique life stories, experiences, and needs reside.

The Housing and Support unit provides housing and housing solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness who need support. Within the unit's seven sections and operations, there is a common mission to offer individually tailored housing forms for individuals who, due to harmful use, dependency, or other life difficulties, need support in their daily lives.
