The Housing and Support Unit is now looking for summer substitutes and hourly workers for Lillhem, a protected emergency accommodation for women experiencing homelessness with harmful use and dependency. The positions involve day/evening shifts and awake night shifts, including work every other weekend.

Job Responsibilities

Lillhem is a protected emergency accommodation for women with harmful use and dependency who are experiencing homelessness from the age of 18. Our primary goal is to provide a safe place to live and to offer support and assistance in everyday life.

We work with harm reduction and motivational support, based on a low-arousal approach. Trustful relationships are central to providing our target group with a context and a daily structure that helps the client achieve a positive change.

In this role, you will support, motivate, and help create a safe living environment and good relationships with the residents. To succeed in this, a non-judgmental attitude and a good ability to switch between different strategies and approaches depending on the situation are required.

Another important part of our work is to collaborate with other actors regarding our target group, such as the police, healthcare, social emergency services, and other units within social services. The job responsibilities also include documentation, record-keeping, and the establishment of implementation plans.

The work also includes some practical tasks such as cleaning living rooms upon move-out, serving food and refreshments, and assisting residents with other practical matters such as cleaning and laundry when needed.

Qualifications

For these positions, the following is required:

  • Started or completed education as a social worker, social educator, treatment educator, or other relevant education deemed suitable for the assignment by the employer.
  • Relevant work experience in social work where meeting people has been an important part.
  • Very good Swedish in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with individuals living with mental health issues
  • Experience working with individuals living with dependency issues
  • Experience working based on a low-arousal approach
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness
  • Education and experience in MI and/or solution-focused approaches
  • Experience working with documentation in similar operations
  • Experience working from a harm reduction perspective
  • Experience collaborating with other actors regarding our target group, such as healthcare and psychiatry, police, Functional Support Administration, and authorities within municipal operations that decide on housing

About the Workplace

Lillhem has 21 accommodation places and is staffed around the clock. Here, 14 social educators work, of which 4 at night and 10 during the day/afternoon on a rotating schedule, along with 1 coordinator and section manager.

The Housing and Support Unit consists of 7 sections and operations that share the common goal of offering individuals, who due to harmful use or dependency, or for other reasons face significant difficulties in their lives, a way to live that is adapted to their needs and with tailored support. We also aim to work to reduce harm, motivate change, and strengthen individual resources and functional abilities.
