Do you want to gain valuable experience in social work and work closely with individuals with active substance abuse issues, with or without mental health problems, who for various reasons struggle to maintain housing in the regular housing market? We are looking for someone who wants to work this summer but also be available for extra shifts during the semesters.

With us, you will be part of two smaller teams with a strong client focus and good cohesion, where we care about supporting each other. The positions may involve work in both operations, providing a broad and developing experience.

Job Responsibilities

As an employee with us, you will:

• support, motivate, and create security in the living environment
• build and maintain professional and trusting relationships
• work with a non-judgmental and low-arousal approach
• collaborate with other actors such as healthcare, psychiatry, police, social emergency services, and other parts of social services
• work with documentation, record-keeping, and implementation plans
• conduct support conversations
• provide residents with support in contact with authorities
• offer training interventions in the living environment as needed

Qualifications

For these positions, the following is required:

• Started or completed education as a social worker, social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, or other relevant education deemed suitable by the employer for the assignment.
• Very good Swedish in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious:

• Internship within the framework of relevant education
• Experience working with individuals living with mental health issues, substance abuse problems, or homelessness
• Training or experience in motivational interviewing (MI) and low-arousal response
• Experience working with documentation in similar operations
• Experience in harm reduction work
• Experience collaborating with, for example, healthcare, psychiatry, police, disability support administration, or municipal authorities
• Driver's license (B) and good driving experience.

About the Workplace

Bostadsbyn (Malmö)

Bostadsbyn caters to men aged 21 and over with active substance abuse issues, with or without mental health problems. The operation includes 29 furnished apartments, the majority of which are assistance places and a few subleases.

Disponentvillan (Arlöv)

Disponentvillan targets women and men aged 21 and over, often with substance abuse issues, with or without mental health problems. The operation includes 18 furnished assistance places.

Work is conducted in pairs in client contact with a high focus on safety. Our method base is based on low-arousal response, motivational interviewing (MI), and a harm reduction approach.

The housing and support unit consists of 7 sections and operations that share the common goal of offering individuals, who due to harmful use or dependency, or for other reasons face significant difficulties in their lives, a way to live that is adapted to their needs and with tailored support. We also aim to work to reduce harm, motivate change, and strengthen individual resources and functional abilities.
