As a childcare assistant, you will help create a safe and fun environment where children can develop, play, and learn. You will work closely with and support preschool teachers and childcare workers in driving the educational work at the preschool – always with the children's best interests in focus.

The position is needs-based, which means you will step in when regular staff are absent, sometimes on short notice the same day. You will enter your availability via the booking system Medvind.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who:

• Has completed high school education
• Has experience working with children
• Is curious, flexible, and good at collaborating
• Can take initiative but is also attentive and adaptable based on the work at the preschool
• Can step in on short notice when needed
• Has a driver's license and access to a car – you need to be able to travel to different preschools in the municipality
• It is an advantage if you have some form of healthcare education or training/experience in diabetes
• Can communicate well in Swedish

The most important thing is that you have the right attitude and value a respectful and warm approach towards both children and adults. Your contribution as a substitute is important in our preschools!

The employment is a needs-based position with hourly pay.

The Department of Children and Education is responsible for the municipality's preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, adapted schools, and cultural schools. We work together to create a learning environment where children, students, and employees succeed and can be their best. The department's mission is to coordinate, plan, and support the various operations and work for coordination between school and working life.

The staffing unit in the Department of Children and Education consists of a unit manager, administrators, childcare workers, preschool teachers, and childcare assistants. We staff the preschools as needed for both short-term and long-term substitutes during the absence of regular staff or if a temporary need arises.
