Job Responsibilities

As a support educator, you will implement working methods and approaches in the operations.

Your tasks include creating relationships, supporting, guiding, and assisting users in various everyday situations, maintaining social contacts and relationships.

All support measures, e.g. activities, cleaning, laundry, food, personal support, and physical care, are based on the individual needs and wishes of the users in accordance with LSS legislation and Malmö City's LSS plan and values.

The work should promote independence, participation, and be carried out with respect for the user's integrity and self-determination. You will work systematically with social documentation.

You will collaborate with your colleagues and other stakeholders and work with users based on their implementation plans and action plans that you develop together with the users.

Participate in finding solutions and methods that develop the work. Work to increase the pedagogical approach that supports each individual's participation and self-determination.

The assignment also includes handling medications.

The position includes day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education comprising at least 200 YH points or 60 higher education credits. The education should have a clear focus on the disability area and/or the behavioral sciences.

We would like you to have knowledge of pedagogical methods, such as knowledge and experience of low-arousal approaches and clear pedagogical methods as well as AAC/TAAC, and thus have the ability to guide your colleagues in this work.

It is advantageous if you have experience working with individuals within the LSS circle 1 and have previous experience in a guiding role. If you also have a B driver's license, we see it as a plus.

We are looking for someone with a pedagogical perspective, who is quality-conscious, meticulous, and committed to meeting the goals and intentions according to the LSS law. To thrive in your professional role, you should have good self-awareness and a positive attitude.

You have professional maturity and are responsible, creative, and want to be involved in developing our operations. You have the ability to work both in a team and independently and take your own initiatives.

You should have a strong will and drive to promote people's development based on their conditions. You can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

About the Workplace

Svennedalsvägen is a group home with six residential places.

The operation is aimed at Malmö residents who have been granted housing according to LSS. The users have varying needs, interests, and wishes. The support and activities are guided by needs and are carried out individually with the individual user or together with other users in a group.

In the disability support administration, over 2400 employees work together to create and develop even better support and services for people with disabilities. Our operations exist within LSS, social psychiatry, personal assistance, guides, and respite care. Severely ill children who are cared for at home are also included in our mission.
