The Workplace

The Support Services department is divided into three units: the authority unit, the particularly resource-intensive unit, and the traditional unit. We are now looking for you to join the particularly resource-intensive unit as a support assistant to create a calm and safe environment for the users.

The target group of the residence is group 1 under LSS, which includes individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, or autism-like conditions. Furthermore, this means that individuals have disabilities in combination with other diagnoses. We operate from a user-oriented perspective where users are given support and services based on individual needs. The goal is to enable independence, self-determination, and participation to the greatest extent possible, based on each user's abilities.

The group home and workplace are located just outside the urban area of Trelleborg. The easiest way to get to and from the workplace is by your own bike or car.

Job Responsibilities

As a support assistant, you are a key person in supporting and guiding users based on a pedagogical and practical approach in their daily lives, including; care/hygiene, activities, cooking, and skill training. All with the aim of helping users achieve increased independence.

Based on the users' implementation plan, you work to establish, drive, and follow up on the goals of the implementation plan and realize the highest possible quality and participation in everyday life.

With a focus on good and clear communication and positive interactions, your task is to create calm and safety for the users regardless of the situation. Furthermore, you are a support and create conditions for good contact with relatives, healthcare, and other important contacts for the individual. Within the internal organization, you primarily collaborate with other support assistants, support educators, and management to continuously develop the operations and achieve set goals.

Qualifications

For the role of support assistant, we are looking for you who have:

• High school diploma or vocational qualification from the health and care program, child and leisure program, or other equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent
• At least one year of work experience in support services/LSS: care and support and/or the school environment where you have worked with individuals with autism, psychiatry, or challenging behavior and/or clarifying pedagogy.
• Good computer skills and documentation experience
• Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish, as you will need to document in journals and establish other important documentation in your work.
• At least a B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles
• Good physical ability, as the job involves activities with the users
