The Department of Work and Welfare is restructuring its organization and working methods to better meet the needs of our citizens. As part of this transition, we are now looking for a team leader who is passionate about working with the target group of adults with harmful use and addiction.

Your role with us

As a team leader, you are responsible for the operational management of the adult care team with five social workers, where the caseworkers work with authority exercises for adults with harmful use and addiction. Furthermore, the caseworkers are responsible for investigations and interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Abusers Act (LVM) in certain cases. You are responsible for leading and distributing the work in the team and for making decisions in individual cases according to the applicable delegation order in collaboration with other team leaders and managers.

The role of team leader also includes supervision and guidance in individual cases. Together with your closest colleague, who is the Team Leader for a team working with violence issues for adults, you will create new working methods and approaches for increased collaboration in dialogue with the unit manager, in addition to your regular tasks. In your role, you will also assist the unit manager in employee and salary discussions. You are expected to have extensive knowledge of adult care, relevant legislation, and to ensure that routines and legal security are maintained. You will also participate in the unit's management group as well as in follow-up and goal work within the unit.

Who are we looking for?

You who are applying have a degree in social work. Training in Addiction Severity Index (ASI) is also a requirement. We want you to have at least three years of experience in authority work within social services in the area of adult care. Experience in authority exercises regarding harmful use is an advantage. We would also like you to have leadership training and/or leadership experience.

The position requires that you have good communication and collaboration skills and can express yourself well in speech and writing. It is an advantage if you can give presentations and lectures tailored to the target group. You also need to have a B driver's license to get around our municipality if necessary.

We are looking for someone with a coaching approach who can lead and motivate employees to achieve the organization's goals. You are well acquainted with what working with harmful use and addiction entails and are expected to have decisiveness and the ability to make decisions within your area of responsibility. We appreciate that you have the courage to make decisions, sometimes also quick decisions, both independently and together with others. You are good at collaborating and have an easy time listening, showing empathy, and respect. For us, it is valuable that you can build good relationships with colleagues and other partners both internally and externally. Since the work often involves driving several processes in parallel, you have the ability to plan and structure your work well.
