The Mission of the Social Administration

The mission of the Social Administration is to work with social services and provide support so that everyone in the municipality feels safe and has the same opportunities in life. We want everyone to be able to be active and involved in society. With a focus on respect for the individual's right to decide over their own life, we are responsible for three important areas: care and support, assistance for people with disabilities, and help for individuals and families. The Workplace

The Advice and Support Unit is one of the units within Individual and Family Care and is responsible for issues related to domestic violence, outpatient interventions for families with children aged 0-20, and Barnahus Söderslätt.

The unit currently has 27 permanent employees, including one coordinator and two senior social workers, who, together with the unit manager, work to offer Trelleborg's residents high-quality interventions.

The new Social Services Act, which came into force on July 1, 2025, includes a greater focus on crime prevention measures, which means we need to expand our team. Health and workplace environment issues, as well as development work, are prioritized areas in the workplace. We provide a well-thought-out introduction, training in MI and Signs of Safety for everyone, and continuous professional development based on needs and assignments. There is an awareness of the importance of recovery in the workplace, and the possibility to work part of the time from home.

The municipality offers wellness compensation, benefit bicycles, and the opportunity to exchange vacation days. The workplace has trust-based working hours, but you need to be prepared to work late afternoons/early evenings a couple of days a week if you have assignments that require it.

Communication options are good as the workplace is located about a 10-minute walk from the bus and train station.

Job Responsibilities

As a youth treatment worker, you will primarily work with individual youths and in the arenas where they feel comfortable meeting. Treatment and change work is conducted in outpatient care and is based on a systems theory foundation, which is why we prefer to combine interventions with family treatment. To create a whole for the youth and their family, the youth treatment worker and family treatment worker work as a team. You will be part of a group of seven treatment workers who specialize in youth cases, where two other colleagues have the same role as you and the rest are family treatment workers.

We believe that collaboration is important to achieve powerful and lasting change, and therefore we collaborate with the youth's private and professional network. In some cases, we work with social intervention groups (SIG) together with the police and schools.

As a youth treatment worker, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and following up on treatment work based on the assignment you have received from the organization's Reception and Investigation Unit for children and youth. Treatment work is documented and followed up in the treatment support Journal Digital. Some of the youths are sentenced to community service or youth contracts, and then the design and execution of these interventions become part of your job. You have support and assistance available from the senior social worker, manager, colleagues, and external supervision.

Qualifications

The work requires that you have a degree in social work or another higher education that the employer deems equivalent and relevant for the position. You need to have experience in treatment work with youths, preferably with problematic school absenteeism, NPF, and mental health issues. If you are also trained in CPU, A New Path, or Repulse, it is an advantage.

It is of utmost importance that you have a strong commitment and that you find it easy to build relationships with youths, their relatives, and partners. You need to be stable and have an easy time seeing what works, as well as enjoy working both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. You need to have a B driver's license and be willing to participate in various activities with the youth.
