About the Job
Förskolevägens residence with special services is located by the beautiful Askimsviken near the beach, sea, and nature.
Here, 10 individuals aged 31 to 56 live with individual and varying support needs. The target group we work with consists of people with intellectual disabilities and autism. They live in their own apartments with access to shared spaces. The residents are active in various ways, such as sports, training, church, swimming, and various events where you play an important role.
We are now looking for someone interested in a developing job where you support individuals in their daily lives and enable them to have a meaningful existence. We offer a stimulating work environment where you, together with the unit manager, two educators, and the work group, participate in planning and developing the operations.
In your role as a support assistant, you will work with a variety of tasks from providing pedagogical support in everyday life to participating in community life and leisure activities. Personal care and support at home, such as laundry, cleaning, and cooking, are performed as much as possible together with the tenants. You work motivationally and create conditions for structure, participation, and self-determination based on each person's abilities.
You will be the contact person for one tenant. This means maintaining contact with relatives and other networks and actively working on following up implementation plans and managing ongoing documentation, which is done with the tenant's involvement.
Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and every other weekend according to a schedule.
At Förskolevägens residence, you will be part of a workgroup with positive and engaged colleagues. Together we make a difference, and our work is important for individuals who need individual support in their daily lives.
About You
We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant points in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
Communication and documentation are important parts of the job, which requires that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the testing user Educateit.
It is advantageous if you have work experience in the disability field and experience working with individuals with autistic traits. Since several tenants use visual support, it is also desirable that you have experience with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). It is also meritorious if you have experience with the following methods:
- MI (Motivational Interviewing)
- IBIC (Individual's Needs in Focus)
- Sign Language Support
- Clarifying Pedagogy
- LAB (Low Arousal Approach)
- ESL (An Independent Life)
You take responsibility for your tasks and the common tasks with the best interests of the organization/clients in focus. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You easily adapt your working methods based on changing conditions and new information. You have the ability to share information and ideas, both verbally and in writing. You have the ability to work together with others to complete tasks and achieve goals.
Other
Selection and interviews will begin during the application period.
