Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a support assistant for our daily operations at Formverkstan in Majorna.

Formverkstan is a workplace for individuals with decisions regarding daily activities according to LSS. Participants have an interest in and enjoy creating and expressing themselves through visual arts and crafts. We are a larger organization consisting of several studios. The staff group consists of support assistants and a support educator.

What we have in common is that we all have interdisciplinary competence, which means we are trained to work within functional support and with creative and craft activities in various forms. We offer our participants meaningful activities and development by working with ceramics, sewing, textile crafts, and painting.

As a support assistant, you will take on the role of a mentor. This means that you possess the ability to clarify and instruct how an activity can be carried out in a way that is tailored to individual abilities and promotes independence and participation. The purpose and goal are that everything that happens should be meaningful, manageable, and developmental. Depending on their needs, the participant may require support in various areas of daily life, such as personal care, transfers, and medical care.

Your job responsibilities include being attentive by identifying how we can best meet the participant, having great patience, and through a pedagogical and motivating ability, support and guide based on the individual's needs and wishes. You share your knowledge on a collegial level to ensure a good collaboration and atmosphere.

As a support assistant, you have a stimulating assignment where you are expected to collaborate with participants, colleagues, relatives, authorities, guardians, and external contacts to work with the individual in focus. The assignment also includes establishing implementation plans, following up on these, and maintaining social documentation continuously linked to individual goals. You work methodically with a professional approach, are flexible, and are interested in learning new things.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social and pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a specialization in the disability area that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The courses should be within behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Communication is an important part of the job, which requires you to have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

You have training in one or more craft areas. You view the creative process as a tool in your work and have insight into how it affects and inspires our target group. We would like you to have a background in sewing/textiles, painting, and ceramics focused on various techniques such as acrylic, watercolor, ink, pastel, and more.

You are imaginative, cooperative, and work solution-focused to provide satisfactory work with our users. You take responsibility for your own and the group's shared tasks and focus on the organization and the users.
