We are now looking for part-time and summer substitutes who want to work with us in our operations for children and youth!

Are you interested in working with children with special needs? Are you studying or have you recently completed your education and are ready to take the next step? Or are you just interested in trying something new? With us, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where each day offers new situations and lessons while making a real difference for others.

Our children's homes and short-term accommodations cater to children and youth with various support needs in their daily lives. This can involve everything from difficulties with communication, learning, or social interaction to more extensive needs that require medical care, such as tube feeding or respiratory assistance. In some operations, you will meet children with challenging behaviors, which may include self-harming behavior. Other operations target children with multiple disabilities and significant care needs.

As a substitute with us, you provide support based on each child's individual needs, from assistance with personal hygiene to everyday tasks such as cooking and cleaning, as well as participating in or leading various activities. You also contribute with pedagogical support and document the children's development. In our work, we use established methods, including low-arousal responses (LAB) and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), to create safety and participation.

As a part-time substitute with us, you will be offered flexible working hours. For those interested in part-time and summer substitute positions, shifts are scheduled during the day, evening, awake night, or sleeping on-call, both on weekdays and weekends. With us, there is an opportunity for flexible work and to be part of creating those small but significant moments where a smile can change an entire day.

In addition to children's and short-term accommodations, we also have camp activities year-round for both children, youth, and adults with various support needs. In the summer, we organize weekly camps, and during the rest of the year, weekend camps are held. As a substitute, you will help plan activities, support participants in their daily lives, and ensure that each individual receives the support they need. You will work in a team with colleagues, and the camps are held in various locations outside Gothenburg.

Qualifications

To work as a substitute within functional support, you need to be at least 18 years old, in accordance with the regulations regarding minors' work environment 14§ and appendix 2 1B (AFS 2023:2). If you do not meet the passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered a language test via EducateIt.

We consider it meritorious if you have completed or are pursuing education in the field, for example as a support assistant, nursing assistant, or if you have a completed or ongoing academic education in health and medical care, behavioral science, or educational training.

In addition to this, we would like you to have experience/knowledge of low-arousal responses (LAB), alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), challenging behaviors, and self-harming behaviors. It is also meritorious if you have previously worked with medical technical aids such as tracheostomy, tube feeding, PEG, or respiratory devices and have experience with extensive care. If you have previous experience working in the field of functional support or in health and care, it is meritorious but not a requirement.

As a substitute within functional support, you focus on the individual, and we are looking for someone who takes responsibility for both their own and the group's tasks. You are positive, helpful, and respectful even when it is stressful. You collaborate well with others, listen, and contribute to a good atmosphere. In pressured situations, you remain calm, make wise assessments, and ensure that the assignment succeeds in the best way possible.
