Tjörn - the island of opportunities all year round and for a lifetime is Tjörn's vision.
The Department of Individuals and Families consists of three units: the Children and Youth Unit, the Adult Unit, and the Employment, Integration, and Financial Assistance Unit. The units include authority exercise and open care. Each unit has a chief social worker and is led by its own unit manager.
As a social worker for financial assistance, you will encounter a workplace characterized by good community, inclusion, and close leadership. We believe in the strength of working together and the value of a climate where everyone feels welcome, heard, and involved. Here, it is easy to thrive and easy to collaborate – both within your own unit and with the department's other units.
We have a culture where you are given great space to shape and plan your work and contribute your professional perspectives. At the same time, support is always close at hand, thanks to accessible management and colleagues who are happy to share their expertise and experience.
As an employee, you are actively involved in the unit's development work – from everyday improvements to larger change processes. We work solution-focused and with a shared desire to find the best paths forward, both for the organization and for those we serve.
Regardless of your role, you become part of a context where collaboration, trust, and a positive drive create both job satisfaction and good results.

To help individuals achieve self-sufficiency, you work closely with them based on an individual action plan and in close collaboration with your colleagues in the Employment and Integration Unit, as well as other important actors in the labor market, education, and health care. You also work closely with your colleagues in the other units within the department.
An advantage of working in a smaller municipality is that it is easy to connect with colleagues in other operations and thus create good collaboration around individuals.
You are offered as an employee:
- Method support from the chief social worker in teams and individually
- Case reviews with the chief social worker
- External process guidance
- Relevant further education
- Trust hours with the opportunity to finish at 3:00 PM on Fridays and once a month finish at 12:00 PM with retained salary.
- Flex agreement
- Opportunity for vacation exchange
- Wellness compensation
- Group training during work hours.
We offer you an interesting, varied job in a stimulating and positive work community. We work for a good work environment where it should be pleasant to go to work!
In this role, you thrive:
- If you have a natural ability to create relationships, both with colleagues and the individuals you meet in your work.
- You have a professional and respectful approach based on a humble attitude towards those you meet, regardless of the situation, and you create security through your attentiveness.
- You value collaboration, focus on the individual, and work to understand and strengthen each person's conditions.
- As a person, you are meticulous and structured, with the ability to independently plan and carry out your work.
- You are resilient and maintain calm even in rapid changes, high workloads, and in meetings with individuals.
- In a developing and changing organization, it is also important that you are flexible and can adapt to new needs, working methods, and situations while maintaining quality in your professional assignment.
