Citizen guides are an initiative that works to reach several residents with important community information.

Today, we have citizen guides working in three of our city areas (Hisingen, Nordost, Sydväst).

Job Responsibilities

As a Citizen Guide, you will work to be a communication channel between the City of Gothenburg's operations and the residents in Sydväst. In 2026, there will be a strong focus on working with voter empowerment tasks. This means that you will have meetings, conversations/dialogues in public environments and contexts.

Your job responsibilities include:

  1. distributing information and talking to residents in squares and streets.
  2. working proactively to reach the target group.
  3. leading or participating in activities that take place in the local area, for example on a market day.
  4. as a citizen guide, helping to provide a picture of residents' opinions and thoughts.

You will be part of a workgroup with several citizen guides and have a local coordinator to support the planning of the work.

Qualifications

The position requires that you have a strong interest and commitment to community and democratic issues. You must have a broad network and good anchoring in the Sydväst city area. For example, by being or having been active in an association, volunteer work, or any civil society organization working in the area. We prefer that you live in Tynnered, Frölunda, or Högsbo or have a close connection to the area in another way.

You speak Swedish and English fluently, and if you also have other language skills, such as Somali, we consider that an asset. To perform the tasks well, it is important that you are communicative and can inform clearly both orally and in writing. Additionally, you should be comfortable in social contact areas, both informal and formal. You stand by decisions made and can convey uncomfortable messages when necessary. It is also important that you can collaborate with others to perform tasks and achieve the goals set. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you contribute to a respectful work climate. You are also service-oriented and have an interest, willingness, and ability to help others, and you strive to find solutions.

Conditions

Selection is ongoing. This means that interviews may begin before the application period has ended. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
