Personal assistance is an intervention according to LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons). As a personal assistant, you provide individual support and care to individuals who have been granted personal assistance because they need help with one or more basic needs. Each client is unique, and your tasks will vary based on the client's needs. You respect the client's self-determination and integrity and contribute to making everyday life run smoothly.

About the position

We are looking for a person who wants to contribute to a safe and well-functioning everyday life for a woman living in central Gothenburg. As a personal assistant, you will support in all aspects of daily life and also share many fun activities with the client. She is an active person who enjoys going for walks, to the cinema, sports events, or having coffee in the city, but she also appreciates quieter moments at home. Therefore, you need to be comfortable with assistance where the pace varies. The job also involves some manual transfers, and it is important that you pay attention to your lifting technique even though there are aids available at home. We prefer that you are a calm, patient, and attentive person who can adapt to the client's needs and communicate using alternative communication. Swimming skills are a requirement as visits to swimming facilities occur.

We are now looking for someone who meets the following:

• wants to work with a woman in her 50s living in Majorna, Gothenburg

• has very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

• is a competent swimmer and comfortable working in water

• is non-smoker

It is also meritorious if you:

• are a trained nursing assistant

• have experience with alternative communication, such as Bliss

• have experience with movement-restricting disabilities

• are attentive and calm as a person

• share the client's interests such as walks, activities, and attending sports events

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Working hours, employment rate, and salary:

The current employment form is “as long as the assistance assignment lasts” with an employment rate of about 62-65%. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and/or nights, both in the form of shorter shifts and full-day shifts. 4-week schedule as follows:

Week 1: Tuesday 12:00 - 18:00, Wednesday: 12:00 - 18:00, Thursday: 18:00 - 12:00 (full-day shift, 5 hours waiting time)

Week 2: Wednesday: 12:00 - 18:00, Thursday: 12:00 - 18:00

Week 3: Tuesday 12:00 - 18:00, Thursday: 18:00 - 12:00 (full-day shift, 5 hours waiting time), Saturday: 10:00 - 10:00 (full-day shift, 5 hours waiting time)

Week 4: Tuesday 12:00 - 18:00, Friday: 18:00 - 16:00 (full-day shift, 5 hours waiting time), Sunday: 10:00 - 15:00

Fixed hourly wage according to agreement and other compensations are made according to collective agreements.
