Who will you be working with?

We are looking for another fantastic assistant for our 18-year-old daughter with Rett syndrome. Our daughter lives with us, her parents, and her brother in eastern Kortedala in Gothenburg. She is a curious girl who loves to socialize with others and be active. At home, we dance a lot and enjoy adventures in the forest. She has a secret language that means she communicates with her body and eyes.

As her personal assistant, you will be part of her daily life. Your job will also involve taking care of her basic needs (ADL) and daily hygiene. You will need to have active supervision when you are together, and you will interpret and translate her communication to the surroundings.

You will, of course, receive a good start with an introduction from both us parents and current assistants. All to ensure that you and our daughter thrive together.

Scope of the position

We are now looking for two personal assistants who can work every other weekend, one assistant on a temporary basis and one assistant permanently. We wish to fill both positions immediately, with the temporary position lasting until week 26. We are a small group of assistants and would appreciate if you can step in extra as needed.

The working hours are as follows:

Temporary position:

Saturday-Sunday, odd weeks from 11 AM to 6 PM

Permanent position:

Saturday-Sunday, even weeks from 11 AM to 6 PM

Who are you applying?

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a clever, enthusiastic person with a great sense of humor

• Is reliable, meticulous, and self-sufficient

• Is fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written

• Is non-smoking

It is also advantageous if you:

• Have experience with TAKK (sign language support), or a desire and commitment to learn this

• Have experience with eye-controlled computers and/or communication tools like PODD/VOCOCHAT
