Social Worker for BUP Emergency

About the Department

Our emergency department has the overall responsibility for the acute operations of the BUP clinic.

As a social worker in the BUP emergency, your work involves triaging patients over the emergency phone and making acute assessments that include suicide risk assessments and determining whether the patient needs inpatient psychiatric care or what level of care is appropriate. We also collaborate with pediatric medicine and provide consultations in the evenings and on weekends. You will always work in a team with a nurse.

We work in interdisciplinary teams based on a holistic approach. The emergency department also includes nurses, secretaries, and doctors.

About the Position

To thrive in this position, you are motivated by driving change and improvement efforts. You have the opportunity to structure your work independently, but you are also flexible and enjoy the acute and changing environment. The position involves both independent work and teamwork.

You will receive comprehensive training in our acute area.

The position includes day, evening, and weekend shifts. Our emergency phone is open every day of the week from 8 AM to 10 PM.

Qualifications

Licensed health and medical care social worker. You have an interest in the mental health of children and adolescents. We prefer that you have experience working with children and young people or previous work in psychiatry.

You enjoy change and improvement work. Furthermore, you are flexible and have the ability to switch between independent work and teamwork. You have good collaboration skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
