Personal Assistant Wanted!

I am a fabulous 17-year-old girl living with my family in Gothenburg. In June, I will be going on a trip and need an assistant who wants to join me! Could it be you?

Scope and Start Date:

I am looking for someone who can start immediately and work 11 hours/week. You also need to be available to accompany me on a trip during the first week of June. During the trip, you will work more intensively, and when we return home, it will again be 11 hours/week. My assistance has varying working hours: early morning, daytime, evening, awake night, and weekends, so you need to be able to work flexibly.

About Me and the Person I Am Looking For:

You who want to be my personal assistant will help me with daily activities. Since I enjoy doing a lot of things and need assistance with everything, it’s good if you are physically fit, as there will be some lifting involved. You will accompany me in my daily life, and your workplace will be both in my home and out on activities, and in June you will travel with me!

One of the things I enjoy is swimming, so you should be a good swimmer and tolerant of chlorine. I also like being outdoors, going to the movies, listening to music, dancing, and walking my dog—so I hope you also love dogs as much as I do! I have younger brothers whom I love spending time with, so you should be okay with small children.

I have epilepsy and use an eye-controlled computer as a communication aid, and I hope you have experience in both areas. I have also recently received a venous port, through which I receive my nutrition (TPN), and you will receive training in this, and it’s important that you are not uncomfortable with blood.

Requirements for the Position:

• Driver's license
• Women only
• Experience with epilepsy
• Experience in personal assistance in the home with children
• Fluent in Swedish in both speech and writing, as communication is important

Desirable:

• Experience with TPN and venous port (nutrition given intravenously)
• Experience with stoma
• Understanding of the LSS world
• Experience with emergency situations
