Investigator for Welfare Crimes

We are looking for an Investigator for Welfare Crimes to the Security Unit at the Municipal Executive Office who wants to develop our work together with us.

Job Responsibilities

As an investigator of welfare crimes in the municipality, you will play a central role in strengthening our joint efforts against irregularities and incorrect payments. The assignment involves being a qualified support to the operations in their own investigative work regarding welfare crimes. You will be an advisory and operational partner who helps the organization act correctly, safely, and effectively.

In this role, you will:

• Assist operations in the organization with qualified support in their investigative work when needed
• Initiate, drive, and coordinate investigations of suspected welfare crimes, unauthorized influence, and internal enablers throughout the organization.
• Conduct qualified analyses to identify systematic irregularities, insider issues, and risk behaviors.
• Collaborate with legal, HR, and operational managers to ensure legally secure and effective investigative processes
• Conduct risk assessments and manage situations related to threats and violence as support to the operations.
• Ensure that incidents are documented, followed up, and handled in a structured manner.
• Establish and maintain collaboration with external actors such as the Police, Region, County Administrative Board, SKR, Social Insurance Agency, and Tax Agency.
• Participate in joint efforts, information exchanges, and collaboration forums within the area of welfare crimes.
• Act as a contact point for external authorities in specific investigative matters.

Furthermore, you may also become part of the municipality's organization for civil preparedness (TiB).

Qualifications

• Experience in qualified investigative work within the public sector or other relevant authority practice.
• Ability to initiate, drive, and coordinate complex investigations of welfare crimes, unauthorized influence, and internal enablers.
• Experience in conducting advanced analyses to detect irregularities, risk behaviors, and insider issues.
• Good knowledge of legally secure investigative processes and experience in collaboration with legal, HR, and operational managers.
• University or college degree in a relevant field for the position or equivalent background and experience that we assess as equivalent.

Additional Information

As the position is classified in a security class, Swedish citizenship is required. For employment, a satisfactory result in the security screening with background check is required, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act. You may also be one of those who hold the position of civil servant in readiness in the municipality.
