Field Secretary for Mobile Team in Helsingborg

Do you want to make a difference for young people in Helsingborg? Do you want to work to ensure that children and adolescents have good growing conditions? Are you secure, communicative, and enjoy working closely with youth? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

About the workplace

In the city, the social administration is responsible for individual and family care. Our mission is to enable residents to become independent in life so that they can take an active part in society.

We have undergone an exciting organizational change focused on creating a more accessible social service based on three main areas: authority, interventions, and services, as well as housing. We have high ambitions. But to succeed, we need you (and a few others).

The Mobile Team field group works with children and youth at risk of developing norm-breaking behaviors. We meet them in their everyday lives – in schools, at youth centers, and out in the city – and offer support to break negative patterns and create good growing conditions.

We collaborate closely with schools, police, recreational activities, and other important actors in Helsingborg. Together, we build a strong network around the youth.

The field group currently consists of 10 dedicated field secretaries who work according to a rotating schedule with day, evening, and weekend shifts. We are looking for two new colleagues - we want you to be part of our team!

Job Responsibilities

As a field secretary in the Mobile Team, you will have a varied and meaningful role where you:

  • Meet young people in their everyday lives – out in the city, at schools, and youth centers – with the goal of reaching those who are at risk of falling outside.
  • Offer support through conversations, group activities, and guidance – you are a secure adult who listens, supports, and shows the way to the right help.
  • Work with youth service and mediation – you help young people take responsibility for their actions and find new paths forward.
  • Build strong collaborations with schools, recreational activities, police, and other important actors – together we create a safer city for youth.

What We Offer

We offer you a varied, responsible, and stimulating job with opportunities for personal development. The workplace is smoke-free and health-conscious. As an employee, you will receive a wellness allowance of 3000 SEK per year.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in social work or similar, or a vocational college degree in social pedagogy or similar.
  • Experience in fieldwork and/or working with youth in vulnerable situations.
  • Comfort with scheduled working hours (including evenings and weekends).
  • A driver's license and the ability to drive a car.

You are a secure and calm person with high personal maturity, which allows you to make quick decisions when the situation requires it. In the role of field secretary, you work proactively and enjoy an outgoing role where you can use your commitment, drive, and initiative. You are attentive, curious, and unpretentious – qualities that help you build trusting relationships with youth, their parents, and various partners. To succeed in the job, you also need to be able to set clear boundaries and stand firm in yourself, even in challenging situations.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • Knowledge of Helsingborg's social structures and collaborating actors.
  • Training and experience in rePulse, motivational interviewing (MI), mediation, and KSL-Crime as a Lifestyle.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
