Amplius Care is a healthcare chain primarily aimed at qualified investigation and treatment for children with or without parents. In May 2024, we opened Ljungbacken HVB focusing on children aged 8-12 years. We are now developing operations and seeking more treatment pedagogues to complement the team. You will be part of an exciting journey where you will have the opportunity to shape the operations together with us.

About Ljungbacken

Ljungbacken is a residential care home for children aged 8-12 years with psychosocial and/or neuropsychiatric issues, children with complex behavioral problems, and children with acting out issues.

At Ljungbacken, there are five places, but since some of the children in our target group have difficulty living with other children, there are two places in an adjacent house with two separate apartments.

At Ljungbacken, we work with the child in focus, providing qualitative treatment that is planned and evaluated together with the facility's psychologist and child psychiatrist. Treatment is tailored to each child's individual needs and abilities.

Ljungbacken operates in a family-like and homely environment where the children's needs and participation are the focus. The operation has a high staffing level to ensure safety and security; we actively work with functional analysis and risk assessments. The operation also has access to Amplius' specialist team, including psychologists, psychotherapists, nurses, and doctors.

About the role

Working as a treatment pedagogue at Amplius is a parenting assignment as you act in place of the parents in various ways. You are an important person for the child and have a significant impact on the child's quality of life. You need to have the ability to create a close and good relationship and be able to look beyond the child's behavioral problems, as well as have sensitivity to the child's needs and an understanding of the child's vulnerable situation. You have a soft and loving approach while also taking adult responsibility and setting boundaries in a pedagogical way.

Our approach is low-arousal and rests on a developmental psychological foundation; we work therapeutically in the environment where each hour should be meaningful and every situation is an opportunity for learning. We work with affect regulation, skill training, social learning theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

The work involves qualified care and motivational work, and we are now looking for you who want to contribute to creating a safe, secure, and caring environment for our children at night. The ability to meet a child in affect in a low-arousal manner is a fundamental quality to work with us. You should also be able to meet the children's issues in a professional and respectful manner. You should have the ability to reflect on yourself and your own approach and be able to change your own approach depending on what effect you want to achieve in the child's behavior. In addition to the direct treatment work, documentation, cleaning of common areas, and preparation of tasks for day staff are included in your duties. It also includes creating a structure for the operation at night and contributing to maintaining safety according to routines. Since safety is A and O for us, this means that we work with a high staffing level during the day and two staff members awake at night. We also have staff who are on call at the residence at night.

The working hours are scheduled according to a rolling 6-week schedule and some daytime shifts when participating in staff meetings. Other treatment staff work days, evenings, weekends, and have regular on-call duties.

About you

We are looking for someone with at least two years of post-secondary education in social work as a social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, behavioral scientist, social worker, or who has other education combined with experience that we assess as equivalent. You have at least four years of experience in treatment work at residential care homes or within LSS, as well as experience working with children and young people with neuropsychiatric disabilities. Knowledge of treatment methods such as environmental therapy as well as low-arousal approach and MI is desirable.

As a colleague with us, you need to be secure, stable, and unpretentious. These qualities are needed in the situations that arise in meetings with children and their networks, as well as in contact with colleagues and partners. You should have a good ability to reflect on the various situations that arise, see your own impact on what has happened, and be able to suggest new approaches, for example concerning the child's issues and behavior. It is meritorious if you have experience in clarifying pedagogy, solution-focused working methods, and low-arousal approach. You distinguish between the personal and the professional, are flexible, and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. You have the ability to create good collaborative relationships and are a pronounced team player. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Your knowledge of Swedish and English is good, both spoken and written. If you have additional language skills, it is an advantage. Good computer skills and good knowledge of social documentation are necessary. A driver's license for a passenger car (B) is a requirement.

Are you looking for a job where you can make a difference, where you get to work in a company that has high quality requirements and where development and improvement work is a high priority? Do you want to, just like us, go the extra mile and exceed expectations? Welcome with your application!
