Amplius Omsorg is a care chain primarily aimed at qualified investigation and treatment for children with or without parents. In May 2024, we opened Ljungbacken HVB focused on children aged 8-12 years. We are now developing operations and seeking more treatment pedagogues to complement the team. You will be part of an exciting journey where you have the opportunity to shape the operations together with us.

About Ljungbacken

Ljungbacken is a residential care home for children aged 8-12 years with psychosocial and/or neuropsychiatric issues, children with complex behavioral problems, and children with acting-out problems. Our operations are characterized by structure, safety, and relationship-based work in a homelike environment. We conduct treatment based on CBT principles, low-arousal responses, and milieu therapeutic methods – where every situation is seen as an opportunity for learning.

Ljungbacken has five places, as well as two special apartment placements for children needing more individual support. Treatment is carried out in close collaboration with the facility's psychologist, child psychiatrist, and other professionals within the Amplius specialist team.

About the role

As a treatment pedagogue at Ljungbacken HVB, you have a contact person assignment – you are a safe, stable, and present adult who helps the child create structure, safety, and predictability in everyday life. You are an important person for the child and have a significant impact on the child's quality of life.

You need to have the ability to build a close and trusting relationship, look beyond the child's behavior, and understand the underlying needs. A soft, respectful, and loving approach is combined with clarity, boundary-setting, and accountability.

Being able to meet children in affect with low-arousal responses is a fundamental prerequisite for working with us. You should also be able to meet children's difficulties in a professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental manner.

We place great importance on staff having the ability for self-reflection – you need to be able to reflect on your own responses, see how it affects the child's behavior, and actively adjust your actions to achieve the desired effect. You are receptive to feedback and participate regularly in supervision.

As staff, you are a role model and model in the child's learning of new and more effective behaviors. Through your way of acting, communicating, and handling emotions, you show the child alternative strategies and pathways to change.

Your treatment-oriented work includes, among other things:

-Planning and implementing the milieu therapeutic work based on CBT and behavioral analysis.

-Being responsible for daily planning and creating clear, predictable routines tailored to the child's needs and abilities.

-Holding regular conversations (KP conversations) focusing on: Skills training, Behavioral activation, Regulating activities (e.g., emotion management, problem-solving, recovery).

-Supporting the child in developing more effective behaviors through positive reinforcement, modeling, and guidance in everyday life.

-Conducting behavioral observations, working with ABA (applied behavior analysis) to understand the relationships between situation, behavior, and consequence, documenting according to applicable legislation and the facility's routines.

As a contact person, you are the one who holds together the child's daily and treatment-oriented process. You contribute to the child's development by combining structure, empathy, and reflection in everything you do.

The working hours are scheduled according to a rolling 6-week schedule with variations of day, evening, weekend, and on-call work occurring regularly. We also have staff who work awake nights.

About you

We are looking for someone with at least two years of post-secondary education in social work as a social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, behavioral scientist, social worker, or who has other education combined with experience that we assess as equivalent. You have at least four years of experience in treatment work at residential care homes or within LSS, as well as experience working with children and youth with neuropsychiatric disabilities. Knowledge of and experience working with Milieu therapy, CBT, low-arousal responses, and MI is desirable, as well as experience with behavioral observations, behavioral analysis, and social documentation.

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of an engaged organization in development, where evidence-based treatment and the child's best interests are always the focus. You have a genuine desire to understand the child's perspective, patience to build trust over time, and the ability to create safety through your calm and stable demeanor. You find it easy to collaborate and value reflection and supervision as a natural part of the work. You need to be able to manage your own emotions in challenging situations and act with professional distance and empathy. You are secure in yourself, unpretentious, and have a high degree of self-awareness.

You want to work in a structured, pedagogical, and conscious manner with CBT and behavioral analysis at the core and find it meaningful to be the safe adult modeling new skills for the child in everyday life. You see collaboration and communication as strengths, thrive in a team that learns from each other, and are curious to develop both professionally and personally. Your skills in Swedish and English are good, both spoken and written. If you have additional language skills, it is a merit.
