Legal Secretariat, Ministry of Education
Do you have a solid legal background and want to work with legislative issues in a developing, dynamic, and socially important environment with good well-being? We are now looking for lawyers for the Legal Secretariat at the Ministry of Education, which is responsible for legal issues related to the government's education, research, and space policies. Here you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of legislation in these areas, work closely with the political leadership and other stakeholders, and handle complex legal issues at a high level.

As a lawyer, you will work with legislative work but also with other legal issues related to the Ministry of Education's areas of responsibility. You will play a central role in drafting legal council memos, propositions, and regulations, as well as reviewing and preparing proposals for decisions in government matters and agreements. In addition, you will:
- Assist the political leadership and the ministry's units with legal advice and quality assurance.
- Participate in the work of agency governance.
- Work with EU issues and other international matters within the education sector.
- Have extensive contacts both within the Government Offices and with other authorities and external stakeholders.

Your Background
We are looking for someone who has:
- A law degree of 270 credits or equivalent.
- Experience as a court of appeal or administrative court assessor or has other equivalent experience of qualified legal work.
- A strong ability to conduct in-depth legal analyses and has broad legal competence.
- Excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience working within the Government Offices or the inquiry system.
- Experience with legal issues within the Ministry of Education's areas of responsibility.
- Experience in drafting legislative texts and working with qualified administrative law issues.
To thrive in the role, you need to be analytical, meticulous, and have good judgment. You have a solution-oriented and flexible working style and the ability to work both independently and in a team. The work is varied and sometimes intense, which requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and under time pressure.
What We Offer
We offer a stimulating and pleasant working environment where you can contribute to societal development through high-level legal work. The positions are located in Stockholm. For temporary positions, remote work from our offices in Gothenburg, Malmö, Jönköping, or Umeå may be possible by agreement. We apply individual salary setting.
Two or more positions. Appointment as a legal advisor for one to six years, permanent employment with a six-month probationary period, or a temporary position for about one year. The positions are full-time.
A security clearance will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
