Each of the trainee positions is distinct, tied to a department within a specific business area and working location. This means that each position has its own tailored responsibilities, challenges and matching profile.

Your role as a Trainee – Business Controlling

Business Area Generation is responsible for Vattenfall's nuclear power operations in Sweden and Germany and our hydropower operations in Sweden, Finland and Germany. One of Vattenfall's strategic goals for 2025 is to have sustainable production with a flexible production portfolio and low emissions. BA Generation is crucial for us to achieve this goal. Our vision is to be a leader in safe and efficient large-scale energy production based on hydropower and nuclear power with low carbon emissions.

In BA Generation Business Control we focus on monitoring and forecasting the operations within BA Generation, where we continuously monitor financial outcomes and business events in relation to goals and budget, as well as update plans and business management. We regularly receive questions that need to be analyzed and we evaluate and propose different courses of action. The department is also responsible for analysis and decision support for major investment matters.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Business follow-up
  • Analysis and support for decision-making issues
  • Process development within Finance
  • Projects within Finance

To be considered for our traineeship, we are looking for candidates who should:

  • Be a recent graduate with an academic degree or expected graduation before September 2025.
  • Have a maximum of one year of work experience after completing your most recent degree. Internships and student jobs will not be considered.
  • Be fluent in English. Skills in other languages can be a merit.
  • Be willing to travel regularly and relocate for short rotations within our organization.
  • Identify with our values: active, open, positive, and safety.
  • Have a strong desire for long-term commitment to contribute to Vattenfall’s vision, making a lasting impact on the future of energy.

You will be working in the department BA Generation Business Control and located in Stockholm (Solna), Sweden.
