On behalf of the government, the National Property Board of Sweden manages our common natural and cultural heritage. We manage a variety of state-owned properties – including government buildings, courts, castles and royal estates, theaters, museums, embassies, as well as one-seventh of the country's area consisting of forests and land.
As employees, we take pride in being part of an authority, working based on the state’s value foundation, and contributing to positive societal development.
Are you a driven press secretary who is passionate about our common natural and cultural heritage? Then we have the job for you!
Your Role
The position of press secretary makes you one of the National Property Board's foremost representatives and one of our most important ambassadors.
The role involves both strategic planning and operational execution of media-related tasks such as being a spokesperson (or preparing other spokespersons), writing press releases, finding interesting proactive angles, organizing media training, and collaborating with the media. It also involves continuously monitoring and responding to media attention and issues relevant to the authority. On-call duty is an obvious part of the job.
Daily monitoring of the environment is a natural part of your work. Occasionally, you will also lead communication projects that involve more than just the media aspects. Therefore, you need to have a large network of contacts, both internally within the organization as well as externally.
On a daily basis, you will be part of the communication department's editorial team responsible for content across all channels and following a common planning. This means that, in addition to the usual tasks as a press secretary, you will also contribute to the ongoing production of editorial content.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree or vocational qualification and many years of documented experience in similar work related to social issues. You are confident in independently and professionally managing all kinds of media contacts and have appropriate knowledge of crisis communication. Good relationships with journalists and opinion-makers are another prerequisite.
It is also advantageous if you have worked with this type of tasks in an authority or state organization. Similarly, you should have updated knowledge from editorial environments where more than just traditional news media are handled.
Personal qualities such as independence and creativity are important in this position. We also place great emphasis on your alignment with the state’s value foundation. If you are also a structured and unpretentious relationship builder, you will likely fit in well with us. An interest in issues related to our natural and cultural heritage is always a plus.
