About the Position

Do you want to be part of establishing one of the new regiments that the Swedish Armed Forces have been tasked with creating?

The government has decided to increase defense capabilities by re-establishing several regiments, one of which is the Bergslagen Artillery Regiment.

As a wellness leader, you will be placed in the Garrison Support Department alongside other civilian administrators. The department's task is to support the training of artillery battalions for Sweden's defense with its specialized expertise, and as a Sports Leader, you will work closely and in a directly supportive role for both conscription training and employed personnel.

Main Responsibilities

• Focus on training, health, and competition for A9's employees and conscripts.
• Support all units at A9 with equipment, training, training plans, facilities, tests, and locations.
• Primary responsibility for maintaining sports and physical performance at A9.
• Planning and execution of competitive activities at the regiment.
• Assist in the training of instructors in the subject of physical performance aimed at conscripts.
• Support the regiment in conducting tests regarding the Armed Forces' physical standards.
• Responsible for coordinating participation in regional and central competitions as well as broader events.
• Support the establishment, operation, and maintenance of the unit's sports facilities.
• Provide and plan service for sports equipment.

Wellness and physical training are a natural part of the work for all personnel in the Armed Forces, and we train during working hours for 3 hours based on your personal goals.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• University education such as a subject teacher program with a focus on sports, Sports Science program, or other education and experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
• Good administrative skills.
• Driving license B

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is interested in sports, health, and physical performance. You are independent and take your own initiative in your work.

Other important qualities are that you have good collaboration skills, are articulate in speech and writing, analytical, energetic, meticulous, and service-oriented. You should have good pedagogical skills as it involves educating and informing personnel groups at all different levels, from soldiers to unit leadership.

To thrive with the extensive contact area that the position entails, it is important that you are creative, communicative, judicious, and enjoy creating new contacts. You need to feel secure and comfortable in the role of educator and presenting specialist.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Desirable Qualifications

• Completed conscription/military basic training
• Officer or specialist officer training
• Leadership training
• Experience in driving projects and events.
• Experience and knowledge regarding some of the classic military sports such as shooting, orienteering, and skiing.

Other Information

• The position is a 100% permanent employment starting with a 6-month probationary period.
• The workplace is Kristinehamn, but since conscription training will be located in Villingsberg until 2030, most of your work will be based there.
• Individual salary setting applies, and the start date will be agreed upon.
• Work during inconvenient hours as well as irregular working hours may occur; however, the basis is a regular 40-hour week with the possibility of flexible hours.

The government and the Parliament have tasked the Armed Forces with strengthening Sweden's defense capabilities in a time of uncertain global developments. The Bergslagen Artillery Regiment, A 9, will therefore be re-established in Kristinehamn. The regiment will contribute to increased geographical presence, training of conscripts, and thus the development of artillery capabilities in southern Sweden.
