Description
Do you want to help strengthen Sweden's preparedness?
The Yrkeshögskolan in Karlstad is looking for an educational leader/head teacher for our new training program for Preparedness Coordinators.
At Karlstad Technical Center, we create training programs that make a difference – in close collaboration with the labor market, we ensure that the right skills are in the right place at the right time. We are a dynamic organization with higher vocational education, upper secondary engineering education, vocational adult education, and commissioned training. Here you will have the opportunity to influence and develop training that strengthens both individuals and society.
The Yrkeshögskolan is post-secondary and combines theory with practice in close collaboration with the labor market. Employers are active in both planning and implementation, making the education current and relevant.
About the Program
In an increasingly difficult security political situation with war in the region, NATO membership, experiences from the pandemic, and changes in the preparedness system, the need for competence in civil preparedness is increasing. Therefore, we are starting a completely new higher vocational education for preparedness coordinators, a professional role that is important for creating safety and security in society. The education will be conducted remotely with digital lectures every week, as well as some in-person meetings.
Responsibilities
With us, you will become a key person in a training program that contributes to Sweden's crisis preparedness and civil defense. You will work in an engaged team where ideas and development are encouraged.
As an educational leader/head teacher, you will be responsible for starting up, managing, and developing the distance education for Preparedness Coordinators. This includes, among other things:
- Responsible for developing content and materials for the courses included in the program.
- Teaching all or parts of courses such as civil preparedness, governance and law, supply preparedness, leadership and communication, project management, security protection, war organization, and exercise methodology.
- Responsible for the coherence of the program, for example by inviting guest lecturers and booking study visits.
- Responsible for procurement and follow-up of LIA (Learning in Work).
- Actively collaborate with and maintain close contact with our partners in the labor market – you are an important link between students and the industry and build networks with actors in preparedness and community safety.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant experience and knowledge in civil preparedness.
- Post-secondary education in crisis preparedness or community safety, or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent.
- Interest in pedagogy and in developing others.
- Experience working with digital tools.
- The ability to create structure, collaborate, and build relationships.
Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities – we believe you are communicative, solution-oriented, and enjoy taking responsibility. Experience in teaching is an advantage.
