At Rudsskolan, we are currently looking for a teacher in Home Economics who wants to play an important role in students' development and have the opportunity to make a difference in their lives.

Rudsskolan is a secondary school for students in grades 7 to 9, with approximately 540 students. We strive for every student to feel safe and achieve high goals. Responsibilities

As a Home Economics teacher with us, you will have an important role in providing students with the conditions to acquire and develop knowledge and skills for a sustainable and healthy life. You will teach Home Economics according to the current curriculum, focusing on cooking, nutrition, economics, and environmental awareness. The school has two teaching rooms, and you will have a colleague with whom you will closely collaborate.

In your work, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in Home Economics. In this role, you are expected to create a safe and inspiring learning environment where students have the opportunity to develop both practical and theoretical knowledge. In your teaching, you will integrate sustainability, health, and economics, and you will be responsible for assessing and documenting students' knowledge development. You will collaborate with colleagues to develop the subject and contribute to the school's common goals, as well as be responsible for materials and equipment in the teaching room. Mentorship is included in the position.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a teaching license with the authority to teach Home Economics.

You have good knowledge in cooking, nutrition, consumer knowledge, and sustainable development. It is in your nature to be pedagogical and to have the ability to explain complex concepts in a simple way, adapt teaching to students' different needs, and create engagement through varied methods. You are structured, which means you plan lessons in good time, have clear goals, and organize materials so that teaching becomes both effective and inspiring.

You create a safe and learning environment by meeting students with respect, encouraging questions and discussions, and handling conflicts in a professional manner. Your good ability to collaborate is shown in your active listening, sharing ideas, and contributing to joint projects with colleagues. We also see that you are flexible and solution-oriented – you adapt teaching to changing conditions, find creative solutions, and are open to new working methods and digital tools. A genuine interest in supporting students' development is a given for you, and we place great importance on your commitment to the sustainability perspective in teaching.
