Job Description

We are looking for a new teacher for Glava School who wants to teach grades F-3 and conduct physical education for grades 4-6.

The position also includes hours at the school’s after-school program.

Glava School is the small school with a big heart! Here, students receive a safe and family-like environment where everyone knows each other. With small class sizes and high teacher density, each student can receive the support and attention needed to succeed. Glava School is located about 30 kilometers southwest of Arvika and is close to beautiful nature and cultural landmarks such as Glasskogen and Glafsfjorden.

In the role of teacher, you are expected to work based on a shared understanding of the organization’s mission, where the best interests, needs, and wishes of children and youth are at the center. Through your professional skills and active participation, you contribute to ensuring each child's and student's entire educational journey.

Your contribution in daily interactions and dialogue with students, guardians, and colleagues is crucial to achieving the goal of equal education and high-quality teaching where all children and students can succeed. You are expected to take overall responsibility for the results achieved, both academically and socially, and contribute to a safe and inclusive education and teaching environment. With a positive and solution-oriented approach, you work from a holistic perspective on the child's and student's development and learning.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of teacher, we see that you have:

• Teaching degree with qualifications and certification.
• Good knowledge of the Education Act and the curriculum (Lgr 22).
• Driver's license (B).
• Good digital competence.

It is an advantage if you also have:

• Previous teaching experience.

We are looking for someone who is structured and meticulous but also has the ability to think outside the box when needed.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as a teacher include:

• Planning, implementing, following up, and evaluating teaching based on the school’s governing documents.
• Participating in collegial learning to enable joint planning, assessment, and grading.
• Writing reports, individual development plans, assessments, and other documentation.
• Mentorship with regular student/parent contacts, development conversations, and class/parent meetings.
• Participating in systematic quality work and development work based on national and local governing documents.
• Managing social and unplanned student incidents during, for example, recess supervision and pedagogical lunches.
• Contributing to the development of the school’s digital work and integration of digital tools in teaching.
