Study and Career Counselor for Arvika Municipality

As a study and career counselor, you are a key person for our adult citizens. You help them find the right education and career path, contributing to creating security and motivation for the next step in life.

About the Position

You will work closely with the principal and colleagues in adult education and collaborate with other study and career counselors in the municipality and region. Together, you are responsible for the admissions process and for providing clear and professional guidance to prospective students. The role also includes collaborating with various local, regional, and national stakeholders, as well as initiating and implementing development initiatives within the framework of the assignment. You will work both physically and digitally, for example via Teams, Zoom, or Skype.

You will be based at our office at Arvika Business Center (ANC), which is a modern knowledge and development hub. ANC is centrally located in the harbor area, with connections to both education, business, and public actors in the same building. There is also a restaurant, gym, and other services, creating a lively and integrated environment for both students and staff.

Qualifications

You are a qualified study and career counselor, preferably with experience in adult education guidance. We consider it an advantage if you have worked with coaching and guidance for adults and are accustomed to meeting people in various life situations. You have good computer skills and are comfortable documenting and working in programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

As a person, you are independent, proactive, and flexible. You have good collaboration skills, are pedagogical, and clear in your communication. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Job Responsibilities

Your job responsibilities include, among other things:

• Guiding adult citizens in Arvika municipality regarding studies and career choices.
• Informing prospective students about opportunities in adult education.
• Being responsible for the admissions process together with the principal.
• Collaborating with colleagues and external stakeholders to develop guidance.
• Implementing development initiatives and contributing to improving the operations.

The position is a temporary position at 80% starting on March 1, 2026, and lasting until September 1, 2026, with the possibility of extension.
