JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Hammarö municipality is looking for a guitar teacher for Hammarö Culture School. You will be part of a team of 10 employees across various subjects, meeting around 300 children and young people each week. The goal is to create activities and programs with an aesthetic focus that contribute to a meaningful leisure time for children and youth in different parts of the municipality. Together with colleagues, you will have the opportunity to influence the development and operations of the Culture School.

You will work both with outreach activities and within the Culture School's area, focusing on reaching new participants. In your role, you will collaborate with educators at the culture school as well as with various organizations such as youth centers.

Hammarö Culture School is a school of high quality with engaged teachers and ambitious students. We offer instruction in music, theater, and dance. All teaching staff have a music college education.

We are looking for someone who wants to teach, guide, and support students in their learning, primarily in the afternoons and evenings. As an educator in the culture school, you will work with both groups and individuals.

You contribute to the goals of the culture school, and together we work to ensure that the culture school is a welcoming place where everyone is treated professionally.

Temporary employment until 2026-06-17
Start date: As soon as possible or by agreement
Scope: 40%

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a pedagogical degree from a music college with guitar as the main focus, or another education that can be assessed as equivalent. You have a proven method and are familiar with the material. You have high playing skills combined with a breadth in repertoire and genre.

It is also meritorious if you have:
• Experience working at a culture school.
• Experience in other music subjects/instruments such as piano, bass, drums.
• Experience leading ensembles or pop and rock groups.

As a person, you are proactive with great pedagogical insight. You have the ability to inspire children and young people through your teaching. You are independent, have good drive, and love to create musical encounters with children and young people. You also allow all children to participate according to their abilities and develop their skills and self-confidence.

As a person, we want you to have a positive view of people and be able to create good relationships. You work independently and have a good ability to collaborate with students, staff, and parents. You have a good understanding of how students absorb knowledge and their different conditions.

We place great importance on personal suitability and value your desire to continuously develop your tasks, both as part of the team and as an individual.
