We are looking for an engaged teaching assistant for Östra School.

Responsibilities:

As a teaching assistant, you will regularly support and follow a student during their school day, both in classroom situations, during breaks, and in after-school care, as well as contribute to guiding the student in the long-term work to achieve the school's social and academic goals. You will collaborate with the student's mentor, principal, and student health services and be involved in planning around the student's school day and adapting teaching based on their needs. You will help create a safe foundation and good conditions for the student's development and learning. You enjoy playing, leading play, being meticulous with schedules, rules, and routines, and you like movement and nature.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have at least a three-year upper secondary education with a pedagogical focus or several years of work experience with students with special needs. It is an advantage if you are a trained teaching assistant. You have skills and experience in meeting students in Adapted Primary School (formerly known as special school), NPF, and low-arousal approaches. It is important that you maintain a professional attitude towards students, guardians, and colleagues. To succeed in this role, good collaboration skills and an interest in building relationships are required. If you are also flexible regarding all everyday and long-term changes that are part of the job, we believe you could be a good fit for assignments in our primary schools!

Conditions:

The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period. If you are offered a position within preschool/school or other educational activities, you must present a valid extract from the police criminal record.
