As a controller within Sundbyberg Municipality, you will work closely with one or more sectors and be an important part of supporting managers and operations while driving financial management in the city. For this position, you will work closely with the learning and education sector and the preschool area. Your main tasks will be to lead and support the budget and follow-up process by ensuring that budgets are designed, monitored, and used as an active management tool, perform analyses, and prepare decision-making materials for managers and leadership, as well as establish and present financial reports for managers, leadership, and political decision-makers. You will support the sector in financial matters and contribute to increased financial awareness and participate in the development and digitalization of the city's financial management processes.

You will be part of the financial management unit along with your 15 colleagues. The unit consists of controllers, accounting economists, and system administrators who together drive financial management work in the city and overall for the municipal group. The unit is in a development phase, which gives you the opportunity to influence working methods, processes, and future development together with engaged and competent colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. Previous experience in a controller role is an advantage. Experience working as a controller in the preschool area and in public operations is also meritorious.

You are a driven and engaged person who works in a structured and methodical way to achieve success in your tasks. You have good analytical skills. You take initiatives, see opportunities for improvement, and enjoy working in an organization where finance supports the goals of the operations. You are communicative, pedagogical, and have an easy time collaborating and building trusting relationships. The role requires you to be fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
