About the job as Controller:

As a controller at Jefferson Wells, working with our client in the public sector, you will play a central role in the financial management of research-funded projects. You will work closely with researchers and project leaders and be responsible for the entire chain - from budgeting at application to ongoing follow-up and final reporting. The role involves broad financial responsibility where you will work both operationally and analytically.

Common tasks include:

• Financial work related to research-funded projects.
• Budgeting and forecasting for grant-funded projects.
• Management of EU-funded projects including reporting.
• Reporting to funders in accordance with agreements.
• Work in financial systems.
• Collaboration with researchers and internal functions within the organization.

The candidate we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with several years of experience as a controller who thrives in an analytical and independent role. You have a good understanding of financial processes within the public sector and are used to working with project accounting, especially in research environments. To succeed in this role, you need to be structured, communicative, and comfortable managing multiple parallel projects.

In addition, we are looking for someone who:

• Has a high school education or equivalent, has completed training in finance or a related field.
• Has at least 3 years of experience as a controller.
• Has good knowledge of MS Office.
• Has knowledge of analytical tools such as QlikView, Insikt, or Power BI.
• Has experience with government accounting.
• Can communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Experience with financial work related to research-funded projects at a government agency, university, or other research environment.
• Worked with budgeting and forecasting for grant-funded projects at a government agency, university, or other research environment.
• Worked with EU-funded projects including reporting at a government agency, university, or other research environment.
• Experience working in the financial system Unit4 (Agresso).
• Experience reporting to funders in accordance with agreements.
• Experience working in the HR system HR-plus Visma.
• Has completed two relevant reference assignments within the same area and scope as this assignment in the last three years, or one longer assignment that extends back to December 2023.
