Operations Manager for the Red Cross Treatment Center in Gothenburg
The Swedish Red Cross operates a national treatment center for war-injured and tortured individuals. The goal is to provide treatment and support to people who have been exposed to war trauma or torture so that they can reclaim their mental and physical health.
The treatment centers are located in five places in Sweden: Malmö, Gothenburg, Skövde, Uppsala, and Skellefteå. In addition to clinical treatment work, we engage in advocacy for the rights of torture survivors to receive care and offer training and information to various target groups, both externally and internally. We also work across borders and have several ongoing collaborations with different national associations as well as with the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
About the Position
As the operations manager for the Red Cross treatment center in Gothenburg, you have the opportunity to combine the role of manager with the responsibility of a treating psychologist. In the role of operations manager, you will be responsible for budget, operational planning, work environment, and employee development. You will be part of the Health and Care department's management team, which, together with the department head, drives the department's work forward. You will have your managerial colleagues in other locations in the country, so many meetings will take place via digital forums.
The treatment center operates from a holistic perspective that puts the individual and their needs in focus. The center collaborates with other Red Cross activities to ensure that patients are referred correctly in cases where they need assistance with tracing missing family members, family reunification, support in asylum matters, or wish to participate in social activities.
In addition to the operations manager, the staff group consists of over 10 employees, including psychologists, physiotherapists, administrators, and social workers. Work often takes place with the help of interpreters.
Your Qualifications
- Licensed psychologist or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Documented leadership experience, at least 3 years
- Experience in operational development, planning, budgeting, evaluation, and follow-up
- Documented ability to communicate and build networks
- Documented experience in diagnostic and psychotherapeutic assessment and treatment interventions
- Good knowledge of English
- Good knowledge of the target group
We Prefer That You Have
- Experience working in a non-profit organization
- Experience working with operational financing
- Experience working with treatment through interpreters
- Specialist or Psychotherapist competence.
- Other language skills
If you have a leadership style based on openness and honesty, you need to be communicatively skilled and good at clarifying goals and expectations for your employees. Developing both the organization and employees requires strategic thinking and acting for collaboration within the organization. You will be entrusted to lead a competent interdisciplinary team where everyone's competencies should be utilized, making it important to be attentive and open.
Being a manager at the Red Cross means being part of an organization that has decisiveness and courage as guiding principles for managers and employees. You inspire and motivate your employees and lead change based on what is happening in the world around us.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Other Information
The treatment center is located in Gamlestan on Rullagergatan.
The position is full-time, permanent with a 6-month probationary period, and starts by agreement. Selection and interviews will take place continuously, which means that the position may be filled before the application deadline.
How We Recruit
We welcome your application by February 2nd.
Please contact the recruiting manager Ulrika Wickman at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) 0703-406520 if you have questions about the position.
The Swedish Red Cross strives to be an inclusive organization with employees who contribute to diversity in both perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. We believe this makes us more relevant. Therefore, we are happy to recruit people with different ethnic and social backgrounds, gender identities and expressions, beliefs, ages, disabilities, and sexual orientations.
Our recruitment process starts with an initial selection based on an established requirement profile and is followed by interviews and, in some cases, online tests, as well as background checks and reference checks.
As the Swedish Red Cross is part of the "Inter-Agency Scheme for the Disclosure of Safeguarding-related Misconduct" to protect our sector from sexual abuse, we ask specific questions about this to your references. Final candidates may also be screened against the EU and UN sanctions lists.
Here you can find contact information for the trade unions represented at our organization. You can also read more about us as an employer on our career page.
We kindly ask for no calls from salespeople regarding recruitment-related services.
