About the Job

Kålltorps Hospice is a palliative care unit operated by the City of Gothenburg.

Here, we offer quality care at the end of life in a positive and safe environment, where all senses are stimulated through beautifully decorated rooms, good food, and a lush outdoor environment in the Garden of Senses. Our care is based on the hospice philosophy, which is a symptom-relieving holistic care for the severely ill at the end of life and their relatives. We work based on the guiding principles of safety, integrity, well-being, and quality of life.

Kålltorps Hospice is a nurse-led operation where nurses and nursing assistants work together in the daily care of patients. As a nurse, you are responsible for ensuring that the patient’s needs are met, assessing various health conditions, and taking measures to relieve symptoms. You contribute to a good quality of life and safety for both the patient and their relatives. Supportive conversations with both the patient and their relatives are an important part of your work. We place great emphasis on collaboration, and in our interdisciplinary team, which includes nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, and unit managers, everyone’s competence is important and contributes to good and safe care. You document according to applicable legislation.

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with several years of experience in the profession. It is advantageous if you have specialized training in palliative care and experience in palliative or oncological care. It is also beneficial if you have good knowledge in handling medical technical products.

A very important part of the job involves meeting with patients and relatives. You have a good approach where you show respect, consideration, and empathy. Furthermore, you have an open and positive attitude and have the patient’s needs as the starting point for your actions. You are confident in your role as a nurse and take responsibility for your own and the shared tasks with the best interests of the organization and the patient in focus. It is essential that you enjoy working in a team and have excellent collaboration skills, while also being able to make independent decisions in the ongoing work where you, as a nurse, have the overall responsibility to oversee and prioritize among the needs that arise and ensure that the work is carried out.
