Your tasks

Your role as a support assistant is to support the participants in their daily activities through a pedagogical approach and low-arousal response. Your responsibility is to find suitable tasks based on each individual's abilities and interests. We create individual schedules, checklists, and action plans in the work to support the person's own abilities. The goal is to provide employment that, based on the individual's abilities and wishes, enhances self-esteem and increases self-confidence. The pedagogical work is characterized by working to strengthen the individual's participation and independence as much as possible.

Your workplace

The LSS department within the Social Administration offers services according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons on behalf of the Social and Care Committee. We are responsible for group and service housing, daily activities, short-term relief, cultural and leisure activities, and family care. Spira is a daily activity for people with intellectual disabilities and autism who have LSS decisions.

As an employee at Spira's daily activities, you will guide workers with intellectual disabilities and/or within the autism spectrum. The work requires great clarity and the ability to work in a low-arousal manner. Spira is a small group for those who need a lot of support and has room for five workers with four employees, of which three are support assistants and one is a support pedagogue. Activities for the workers include walks in the local area, excursions by car, trips to the forest, or being in our facility and engaging in activities such as painting, cooking, or listening to music. Our facility is located in Tornby, and we work daytime from Monday to Friday.

You who are applying

We are looking for someone who has completed the care and nursing program, the child and leisure program, or another education deemed equivalent, and has experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and within the autism spectrum.

Low-arousal response is extensively applied in the operation, and therefore it is a requirement that you have experience and/or knowledge in this area. It is an advantage if you have experience working based on IBIC (Individual Needs in Center). Furthermore, it is desirable if you have knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication as well as pedagogical methods. It is also advantageous if you have experience documenting in journal systems and/or experience working with implementation plans.

As the work involves a lot of contacts and documentation, it is required that you have good Swedish in both speech and writing, as well as good computer skills since documentation is done in digital systems. A B driver's license is required as a car is used in the service.

As a person, you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks and move your work forward. You also work well with others and listen and communicate clearly, as well as have the ability to adapt your way of communicating. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability and can understand others' perspectives and situations.
