Do you want to improve the everyday life, future, and quality of life for the residents of Linköping? With us, you can combine important tasks with a meaningful everyday life. Welcome to us!

Your tasks

As an employee, you play a crucial role in creating a safe, meaningful, and developing everyday life for children and young people with disabilities. Your work is individualized where you combine pedagogy, care, and practical everyday support, always focusing on strengthening independence and participation. An important part is to provide cognitive support and work with pedagogical methods, including low-arousal responses, to create structure and predictability. Since the children and young people have different communication abilities, we use alternative communication methods. You support the children/youth in daily activities (ADL training) to enhance their ability to be independent.

You will be assigned a contact person role and work based on the IBIC model (Individual Needs in Center). This includes planning, implementing, and following up on stays together with the child/youth and their representative. You are responsible for creating implementation plans and for ongoing documentation in systems such as Treserva. A professional and reflective working method is fundamental, and you have continuous and close contact with guardians, relatives, and other collaborators regarding the child/youth.

Your workplace

The short-term support service according to LSS means that children and young people with disabilities are offered a change of environment and meaningful activities to promote personal development and recreation through new experiences and community. The different short-term activities we are looking for employees for are described below.

Drabantgatan in T1

In this facility, children and young people (0-21 years) with intellectual disabilities (ID) and significant medical care needs stay. The medical interventions are performed as self-care according to medical certificates via guardians, which means administering medication in solid, liquid, or via PEG. You meet children with medical needs related to type 1 diabetes. Handling medical technical equipment is included, such as saturation and pulse meters, as well as inhalation devices. Since several of the children lack verbal speech, the ability to interpret and understand through body language and eye contact is central. You assist with all personal care and provide support during meals – which may include full or partial feeding, as well as tube feeding.

Who you are

We primarily see that you have a recognized education from the Health and Care program or the Child and Leisure program.
