Youth Coach for Ung Zon
The position is located within the Culture and Leisure Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. We offer all residents and those working in Linköping a wide and varied range of cultural and leisure activities. Do you want to enrich everyday life and improve the quality of life for the people of Linköping? With us, you can make a significant difference and help make Linköping a better place. Welcome to us!
Your Responsibilities
We are now looking for a committed and driven Youth Coach who wants to help create meaningful leisure activities and support young people in their personal development.
In the role of Youth Coach, you will be responsible for enabling participation among young people and giving them influence and self-determination over their leisure time. The assignment includes coaching young people in HBTQI+ activities and motivating them towards self-organization. You will collaborate with municipal operations, associations, and organizations to organize sustainable activities for our target group. Furthermore, you will be involved in developing and advancing Ung Zon and the HBTQI+ activities. With us, you will be part of a small but dedicated team that is passionate about working with young people in HBTQI+ activities and has a strong belief in their abilities.
The working hours are arranged based on the needs of the youth, which means that the main working hours are in the afternoon, evening, and weekends. In practice, this means three evenings a week.
Your Workplace
Ung Zon is a newly established youth activity where young people aged 13 to 18 can meet, create, and develop together. Ung Zon is a merger of various youth activities aimed at creating a stronger and more unified voice for young people in Linköping. By offering a wide range of activities and opportunities, all young people, regardless of background or interest, should have a place where they can develop and feel safe. Through collaboration with associations, community organizations, and civil society, we open up new avenues and create conditions for young people's self-organization. The foundation of the operation is a supportive environment where we place great emphasis on safety and security work.
Ung Zon is located in Berga, Ekholmen, Lambohov, Linghem, Ljungsbro, Malmslätt, Ryd, Skäggetorp, and the Arbis house. We are now looking for a youth coach for the team at Arbis, focusing on the youth within HBTQI+. The core of the operation is to offer a safe social arena where visitors can be themselves outside societal norms, making the role of youth coach a key position in promoting mental health and identity-strengthening community.
We are an open activity-driven organization where participation is voluntary and largely free of charge. We place great emphasis on ensuring that young people are active and co-creators in the activities.
We will continue the change work, and we are looking for someone who finds new working methods exciting and wants to contribute to creating Sweden's leading youth activity.
