Engaged support family sought for a youth with disabilities!

We are looking for you who want to open your home and heart to a fantastic youth who needs a stable and safe place to be. Being a support family is a meaningful way to help a child in their daily life and create a brighter future.

We are looking for someone who can offer:

• A safe and predictable environment.
• A spare room at home.
• Time and energy to engage and support the youth.
• Good collaboration skills.
• Preferably experience in supporting children/youth.
• Swedish spoken and written.
• Can be a single person or a couple.

It is a plus to live in the countryside or have an interest in animals and/or nature. We are looking for a smaller family as too many impressions can be overwhelming.

QUALIFICATIONS

To become a support family, no formal education is required, but you need to be at least 25 years old, have a stable living situation, patience, and a genuine interest in children/youth, as well as being able to offer a safe environment. You will undergo an assessment by the municipality (interviews, home visits, background checks) where personal suitability, engagement, and ability to create safety are evaluated, and sometimes specific experience is requested (e.g., with disabilities, behavioral issues).
