About the Workplace

In the city, the social administration is responsible for individual and family care. Our mission is to enable residents to become independent in life so that they can take an active part in society.

We have undergone an exciting organizational change focused on creating a more accessible social service based on three main areas: authority, interventions and service, and housing. We have high ambitions. But to succeed, we need you.

Outreach activities target individuals over 20 years old who are experiencing homelessness, have harmful use/dependency, mental health issues, or are in a socially vulnerable situation. We work on behalf of the resident, and our support is voluntary.

We collaborate with several actors within the municipality and civil society. Together with the resident, we build bridges for opportunities to improve living conditions for both the individual and the target group.

We are two social workers working with outreach activities, one of us will be testing a new assignment within the administration, and we are therefore looking for a colleague for a period of one year.

Within unit 1, intervention and service, we work together with 16 other colleagues with various assignments focused on social fieldwork.

Job Responsibilities

As an outreach worker, you will have a varied and meaningful role where you will:

• Provide practical and social support to create opportunities for recovery and improved living conditions
• Provide information and offer advice on what support is available in Helsingborg from both municipal and civil organizations.
• Map the target group’s needs to develop and adapt support over time.

We build collaborations with authorities, civil society, and other important actors.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in social work or another higher education in social work or similar, alternatively a vocational college in social pedagogy or similar
• Experience working with harmful use and dependency, mental health issues, homelessness, or social exclusion.
• A driver's license and the ability to drive a car.

You are a confident and calm person with high personal maturity, which allows you to make quick decisions when the situation requires it. In the role of social worker, you work outreach and enjoy an outgoing role where you can use your engagement, drive, and initiative. You are receptive, curious, and unpretentious – qualities that help you build trusting relationships with residents and various collaboration partners. To succeed in the work, you also need to be able to set clear boundaries and stand firm in yourself, even in challenging situations.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Knowledge of Helsingborg's social structures and collaborating actors.
• Experience working with resident-driven interventions
• You can document in Lifecare or have documentation experience.
• Experience with Signs of Safety
