The Family Administration in Sjöbo Municipality is an exciting operation that includes many community-supporting functions such as preschool, primary school and adapted primary school, individual and family care, adult education, culture & leisure, high school, as well as labor market and integration. The position of youth coach consists of 50% leisure and 50% middle school. Organizationally, the position is part of Culture and Leisure, unit cultural school and Leisure, and is part of a workgroup where Leisure activities, social services, and primary school collaborate. The workgroup consists of 2 youth coaches, 1 youth therapist, 1 unit manager, and 1 public health strategist. The middle school in Sjöbo is organized into working teams where each team has scheduled conference time every month focusing on safety and study peace. The position is part of the school's safety team and has a clear promotional and preventive mission related to safety and study peace.

The development work is part of the administration's targeted mission related to improved living conditions, meaningful leisure, and preventive work aimed at children and youth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you engaged in our youth and their opportunities for meaningful leisure? Do you have the ability to build relationships and see the individual while also being able to analyze and work at a strategic level? Then you should apply for this exciting position and become part of shaping a new working method with us!

We are now looking for you who can be an important piece in the promotional work with youth. Together, we, the school, leisure, and social services, create a safe and promoting school environment during the day that then transitions into an active, social, and developing leisure time in the afternoon/evening for all the municipality's youth.

You will be part of the school's safety team where you work with promotional and preventive measures to strengthen safety and study peace. You are an active part of these forums by contributing observations, perspectives, and experiences from daily work in the school environment, aiming to reinforce the systematic work related to the school's plan against discrimination and bullying.

The assignment involves being present in the students' everyday lives, building relationships, promoting activity, and contributing to safety-creating efforts through, for example, targeted presence in school environments where students are, as well as collaboration around efforts at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The work is done in close cooperation with school management and other staff.

In the school's operations, you work on relationship-building and safety-creating during the school day. You are a visible and accessible adult in common areas such as corridors, break rooms, and recesses, initiating and participating in activities will be one of the prioritized tasks, preventing conflicts, strengthening study peace, and early identification of students who need support.

In the leisure activities, you work mobile and create activities based on the needs and participation of youth in the afternoon/evening. You collaborate and build networks with associations and other relevant actors to create opportunities for the municipality's youth.

You work both at an operational and strategic level.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a genuine interest in youth issues and see young people as a resource. You are an outgoing, engaged, and secure adult who easily builds trusting relationships with youth. You are structured and enjoy working independently, while also thriving in collaboration as you will be part of various networks and workgroups. You should be an initiator and a starter with a coaching approach.

You feel comfortable contacting and having conversations with youth and find it easy to collaborate both internally and externally. The position involves a lot of teamwork, and therefore it is important that you have good communication skills, create trusting relationships, and, together with the workgroup, work to achieve good results in the work. It is also important that you are flexible in your work and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. We would also like you to have an understanding of and experience using social media as a means and tool.

For this position, we place great importance on your personal competencies and qualities.

You are educated as a social pedagogue, leisure leader, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
