Your Role

As a payroll specialist at Karolinska Institutet, you will play a central role in the entire payroll process and become part of an engaged and competent payroll team. You will work closely with the operations and provide consultative support to managers and HR specialists at our institutions.

The payroll function is on an ongoing development and digitalization journey, where you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to improved working methods and efficient processes. In this role, there is also the possibility to deepen your knowledge in one or more specialist areas.

Responsibilities

In the role of payroll specialist, you are responsible for independently managing the entire payroll process and ensuring that payroll work maintains high quality and complies with applicable regulations. You will serve as a qualified and advisory support to managers and HR specialists in payroll-related matters and contribute to creating clarity and security in payroll management.

An important part of the assignment is to participate in and drive development and digitalization work within the payroll area, where you will work with colleagues to streamline processes and develop working methods. You will also educate and support managers and HR specialists and collaborate closely with colleagues in payroll and HR in a professional and solution-oriented manner.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has:

• Payroll specialist degree from a vocational school or similar that the employer assesses as equivalent
• Several years of experience in payroll work
• Good system technical skills
• Experience with the entire payroll process with both broad and deep expertise
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Experience in digital development within the payroll area

Personal Qualities

You are meticulous, structured, and service-oriented with good analytical skills. You have a pedagogical approach, are communicative, and find it easy to build trusting relationships. You enjoy working independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and see organizational development as a natural part of your work.
